Donation from Oxford Casino.

United Way of Oxford County has received a $10,000 donation from Oxford Casino.
United Way Executive Director Dennis Gray said half of the money has been earmarked for emergency fuel assistance for Oxford County families this winter. It will also be the founding donation for United Way of Oxford County’s “Keep ME Warm” fund, which will help keep dozens of area residents warm. The funds will be dispensed in cooperation with Community Concepts’ emergency heat fund, he said.

“Oxford Casino’s sizable gift at this time of year is going to go a long way in keeping many individuals and families warm who otherwise may be at risk,” Gray said. Other organizations and individuals wishing to help with fuel assistance for Oxford County families can send donations to the United Way of Oxford County, PO Box 291, South Paris, ME 04281. Donors should indicate that their gift be used for fuel assistance, Gray said.

“We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership with Oxford Casino,” Gray added. “We’re proud to work with Oxford Casino to improve the lives of families in our community.”

Casino General Manager Jack Sours said the business is forging partnerships with charitable organizations in the area. “We are committed to our community, especially those who are struggling to stay warm this season,” Sours said. “It’s gratifying to partner with the United Way and Community Concepts in such a meaningful way!”
